Wanna soak up some classic California culture along with some fun? Just drive aimlessly on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Nothing takes the stress away like driving along PCH through the countless angles and views of the California Coast.
Don't plan ahead. It's an adventure! Just jump in that car seat and drive north or south. See some awesome California. Make sure you bring a camera to snap pics of all the beautiful people, architecture, cars, cliffs, beaches and trippy places you'll discover.
Stop whenever you wanna eat, meet locals or camp-out. No schedule. Be impulsive and casual. Let the experience simply unfold by itself. Who knows what new friends you'll make? Folks are generally pretty mellow along PCH.
It's fun to cruise Highway 1 with all the windows down, blasting your favorite CDs, and wearing your hippest shades. So totally California! Just start waving to folks along the way. You can smile and say "Whassup, dude?" and it's totally cool. Nobody will freak out. Don't be shy.
Up and down PCH, there are tons of great restaurants, drive-thrus, funky beach motels and some fancy hotels too. The houses are majorly hip, and no two look alike. Stop and grab a fish taco or some sushi and start chatting it up with the locals. Maybe you'll get an invite to a beach bonfire!
However you do it, just have fun and go with the flow. See what happens. Let your child-like wonder surface and expect the best experiences. Make your day unforgettable, snap those pics, and take home some kind of keepsake. You'll thank yourself later.
