California Too Culturally Diverse?
May 11, 2010
California is culturally diverse beyond measure. With 167 languages in a land of 40-million people, it is the world's Diversity Capitol, but has California gone too far?
Will the planet's "Migrant Mecca" soon reach the point of "immigration saturation" and pull back its welcome mat out of self-preservation?
California Welcomes the World
The Golden State has long welcomed people from everywhere. Most visitors to California would like to stay. Who could blame them for wanting a better life with greater opportunities in a modern Garden of Eden?
What used to be Ellis Island is now LAX and SFO. Hang around at any international airport in California and you'll hear so many simultaneous conversations in every language that your head will spin.
In the 1970s, the Eagles sang about "everything, all the time --- Life In The Fast Lane". These days, it's every NATION all the time in California. Is this a bad thing?
Strength In Diversity
When you think about it, it's amazing that all peoples upon the earth have family members in California. The Land of Gold is ultimately tied, by blood, to every royal throne around the world.
California would not be California without cultural diversity. Many have suggested that the famous song, "We Are The World" (written by Californians Lionel Ritchie and Michael Jackson), should become the state's official anthem.
In the land of the perennially-new, a constant influx of global immigration ensures that new ideas and methods will always keep California on the leading edge of the future. It's usually the brightest and most ambitious souls who journey to California, after all.
With a massive collection of innovative human minds, California can be called "Earth's Greatest Hits". It is the creative powerhouse of the planet, hands-down.
California's Global Future
With diplomatic and economic ties to every world government, including the U.S., California is a force to be increasingly reckoned with in the future. Every nation and corporation wants a piece of the Golden Pie --- if not the whole thing.
One might say that California is the woman that the whole world wants to date. She is the ultimate celebrity. Despite a lot of recent negative news coverage, California's gold is more valuable than ever --- don't be fooled.
If California and Earth are betrothed to each other, than prepare for the approaching consummation. Global California is a new kind of empire, a different type of union, and a model for world management --- despite the steady apocalyptic "spin" perpetuated by California itself.
Put simply, the decks have just been cleared for high-rolling global investors.
Plenty of Room in California
Most of the Golden State is unpopulated and the geography is gigantic. Throughout time, California's population is sure to continue increasing. With endless solar energy and an infinite ocean to desalinate, the needs of millions of additional Californians can intelligently be met.
Most young Californians today are openly expressive (in their own very candid ways) about their desire to see cultural diversity displayed in their society.
To have every race, culture and idea in one society is the Great Dream of many throughout the world's history. As long as California continues to appeal to the rest of humanity, cultural diversity will continuously refine and reshape the world's most-watched society.
