Candidate for California Governor Richard Nixon was beaming with hope and excitement during his 1962 gubernatorial campaign.

After years of serving as a U.S. Senator, then as a U.S. Vice President, Richard Nixon was back in his home state and confidently running for Governor of California.

Nixon, a native Southern Californian from Orange County, loved the Golden State with a passion.  To serve as the state's Chief Executive was a childhood dream of "Dick" Nixon's, and he was ready to make his dream a reality.

Experienced, enthusiastic and famous, Richard Nixon was a candidate on fire and on top of his game.  He was an expert politician in his prime with a sharp mind, a great message, and a winning smile.

Many California voters fondly remember that magnetic, charismatic and passionate 1962 candidate for Governor of California.  It was the happiest campaign of his life while it lasted.
