Queen Latifah's California Dream

Queen Latifah is phenomenal.  The award-winning actress, singer, entrepreneur, model, rapper, author and rocker is living her California Dream and loving it.

Latifah is a Hollywood doll who started life in 1970 on the east coast as Dana Owens.  The stage name, "Queen Latifah" matches her dramatic persona, though.  By any name, she totally rocks.

I remember first seeing Latifah as a new rapper back in the day.  She was very appealing as a tough tomboy chick.  Now she's a sexy cover girl and movie star who buys expensive homes in Los Angeles.

I think I've seen every movie Latifah has ever starred in.  What a great actress.  Very attractive and approachable.  I will be shocked if she doesn't end up with an Oscar.  She's a natural.

What's my favorite Queen Latifah film?  They're all good, so it's hard to choose.  It's probably Last Holiday, in which Latifah starred with LL Cool J, Timothy Hutton and French superstar Gérard Depardieu.  What an inspiring movie!

I can honestly say that I have enjoyed everything that Queen Latifah has done, whether it be her movies, music, books, interviews, TV shows or photo shoots.

I know a lot of Californians who are totally into Queen Latifah.  What I've consistently heard from folks is that they love her personality.  She's strong, sensitive, funny, down-to-earth, and authentic.  That makes her popular and extremely marketable, obviously.

When she released her jazzy album, The Dana Owens Album, everybody I know was like, "Oh my God, she can really sing!" 

Everybody was already familiar with Queen Latifah as a rap superstar, but yes --- she's a tremendous singer with a mellow, soulful voice that's very appealing and classy.

Whether she's called Dana Owens or Queen Latifah, the lady oozes magnetism. 

She's confident, adaptable, fearless, creative, entrepreneurial and full of inner and outer strength and beauty.  Queen Latifah is the whole package.
