Ronald Reagan Day February 6

Feb 6, 2013

Ronald Reagan Day on February 6th of each year commemorates the 33rd Governor of the State of California, known as The Great Communicator.

"As California's governor, Ronald Reagan made great strides in strengthening our Golden State," said former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who signed Ronald Reagan Day into law.

"We celebrate Ronald Reagan's incredible legacy and his spirit of optimism. Our nation is stronger because of him, and it is important for future Californians to learn about and acknowledge the extraordinary work he did for the state and country he loved," Schwarzenegger added.

Each February 6th, California public schools and educational institutions conduct exercises remembering the life of Ronald Reagan and recognize his legendary accomplishments and contributions to the Golden State.

A radio star, movie star, TV star, union president, governor and U.S. president, Ronald Wilson Reagan enjoyed support from Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents during his dynamic career in politics.

Though Reagan died nearly a decade ago, Californians continue to remember "The Gipper" each and every year on February 6, Ronald Reagan Day.
