Jessica Alba

September 5, 2010

Jessica Alba, 30, is an award-winning television star, film actress, sex symbol, and a native Southern Californian from Pomona.

Alba has come a long way since her childhood days of doing TV commercials for Nintendo and J.C. Penney as a kid.  She is an extremely busy actress in 2010.

Earlier this year, Alba starred in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day with Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Emma Roberts, Ashton Kutcher, and Jennifer Garner.  She also starred with Kate Hudson and Casey Affleck in The Killer Inside Me.

Alba's current film, Machete, is now playing before wide audiences.

The actress will star in Little Fockers, the upcoming sequel to Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers.  Alba will also appear in the upcoming film Spy Kids 4.

How has Jessica Alba stayed in constant demand in the Hollywood film industry on her own terms?

"I think there are ambitious girls who will do anything to be famous, and they think men in this business are used to women doing that. Contrary to how people may feel, I've never used my sexuality. That's not part of it for me. When I'm in a meeting, I want to tell you why I'm an asset, how I'm a commodity," says Alba.

Jessica Alba has described her Los Angeles area childhood home as a "very conservative family—a traditional, Catholic, Latin American family".

Alba is a wife and mother these days.  She married Cash Warren, son of actor Michael Warren, in 2008.  The two have a daughter, Honor Marie Warren, and they plan on having more children.

The busy actress has always found time to help nonprofit charities, like:
  • Clothes Off Our Back
  • Declare Yourself
  • Feeding America
  • Habitat For Humanity
  • International Fund For Animal Welfare
  • Kids Wish Network
  • Love Our Children USA
  • National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

  • Revlon Run/Walk For Women
  • Soles4Souls

Jessica Alba is an ambassador for the 1Goal movement which provides education to African kids.

Whether on the beaches of Southern California, on the red carpet in Hollywood, or assisting charities and causes, Jessica Alba represents California in ways that are always spectacular.
