"Walking in L.A." is a 1983 hit single by the Los Angeles new wave rock group Missing Persons

The song that made the phrase "Nobody walks in L.A." world famous, "Walking in L.A." still totally rocks after all these years.

Missing Persons lead singer Dale Bozzio was known for her provocatively creative fashion statements, which helped her to become a rock sex symbol in the early '80s.

"Walking in L.A." is a song about how everybody in Los Angeles has a car and nobody walks --- except for a 'nobody'.  Basically, it's a people-watching song with social commentary, set to a pulsing rock beat.  Very cool.

The video below is from the classic Missing Persons LIVE concert performance of "Walking in L.A." at the 1983 US Festival in Southern California, which was paid for by Steve Wozniak of Apple.

It's sweet that today's Lady Gaga has chosen to carry forward the torch originally lit by Bozzio.  What a touching 'tribute' to a great lady.

"Walking in L.A." is a hip song that's totally perfect for cruising along the freeway with all the windows down, with the music playing full-blast while you scream along at the top of your lungs.

This song is one of the most awesomely tubular songs about California in history, hands down.  Missing Persons so totally rocks!

Don't be shy.  Just do it.  If anybody stares, just point, look them in the eye, and scream, "Hey, you!  Nobody walks in L.A.!"
