"Pacific Coast Highway" Hole

"Pacific Coast Highway" is a 2010 California song by the Los Angeles alternative rock band Hole.

Written by lead singer Courtney Love, "Pacific Coast Highway" is a hit single from the Hole album, Nobody's Daughter.

The song's setting is along California's famous PCH, or Highway 1, where Courtney Love mourns the loss of her late husband, legendary rock star Kurt Cobain of the alternative band Nirvana.

Produced by Michael Beinhorn and Micko Larkin, "Pacific Coast Highway" picks up where the Hole's "Malibu" left off 12 years before.

Confessional and cathartic on the part of singer/songwriter Courtney Love, the song is an ode to PCH, California and the Pacific Ocean as much as it is to suicide prevention and emotional scars.

"Pacific Coast Highway" is a cool song, though.  Don't get me wrong, I love it.  Courtney has her own definitive style, and this song certainly showcases it.

Raw and passionate, this is the most emotionally difficult song that Courtney has ever performed.  She is one of California's most brutally honest songwriters, by far.

What more can I say?  I have always loved Courtney Love, and "Pacific Coast Highway" by Hole is one of the most heart-wrenching California songs ever.
