"Save Me, San Francisco" Train

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

"Save Me, San Francisco" is a 2011 song by the triple Grammy-winning rock band Train from San Francisco, California.

Train's musical tribute to their hometown, "Save Me, San Francisco" is the title track from their internationally successful album, Save Me, San Francisco.

There is certainly no doubt regarding where the California rock band is from and what city they are singing about.  Train is totally not from L.A., you understand.

The blues-rock roots sound of "Save Me, San Francisco" highlights the feel-good crowd-pleasing appeal that first propelled Train to success 16 years ago.

It's great to hear Patrick Monahan, Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood getting back to basics.  (This song should have been the first single released from the album.)

With lyrical nods to Marin, the Fillmore, the Golden Gate, Alcatraz and, of course, the City By The Bay, "Save Me, San Francisco" tells of being everywhere and everything for everyone but just wanting to be back home.

With one of the most homesick and heartfelt songs about California, Train has created a Bay Area classic with "Save Me, San Francisco".
