California Spellbound

Is the world spellbound by California?  Some say it's true that humanity is currently "California spellbound" beyond all reality.

It has been said that California is a society of images, created in the image of man, out of the imagination of mankind.

Not by accident, the Golden State is symbolized by the mythological goddess Minerva, who was allegedly born fully-grown from the imagination or mind of her father Jupiter.

Was Minerva real or was she simply an image to symbolize the greatest society of images in human history?

A famous California expression states that "image is everything."  Perhaps it could be true depending on what we see - or think we see.

On top of California's physical layer of attributes, like the landscape, the ocean, the agriculture, the oil, the gold, the animals and the people, a layer of imagination has been superimposed in modern times.

For exactly one century, since 1911, California has exercised an overwhelming influence over humanity through images.

From Southern California, images have altered perceptions of reality worldwide via the movie, television and video industries.

From Northern California, images have altered the communication of information worldwide via the Internet and technology industries.

California has marketed more branches of powerful images than Medusa had snakes on her head.  Ironically, it was California's goddess Minerva who changed her rival Medusa's beautiful hair to snakes, according to mythology.

Whether from Hollywood or from Silicon Valley, California's greatest global power over the last century has been gained through light.

Pixels of Light

When we stare at a television screen, a movie screen, a laptop screen, a tablet screen or a smartphone screen, we are spellbound by pixels of light.

Our imaginations perceive the images created by the pixels of light to be real.  Our minds believe what we see with our eyes.

Most everyone knows that an aquifer is a bearer of water, though most do not realize that a bearer of light is a lucifer.

The Spanish word Luz means "light", the name Lucy means "full of light", and Lucifer means "light bearer."

Any screen by which we have information communicated to us is comprised of lucifers, which collectively appear real to us.

As technology advances screens into higher and higher resolutions, more and more pixels occupy the same space we focus our attention on.

More pixels of light present a sharper and clearer illusion for us to believe and base our decisions on.

More lucifers create a stronger and stronger virtual reality as we become increasingly spellbound.

These images not only look and speak as being real, they now handle our information, communications, economy, warfare, security, education, religions, social interactions, entertainment, politics, commerce and our perception of reality itself.

One flip of a switch in the OFF position, and everything will stop as the spell is broken - and the artificially superimposed "dream" from California will be over for humanity.

The real California Dream, however, will live on as humanity exercises its choice to resume a positively natural reality.

For now, the image of "the light of the world" continues in its pixelated imagery, powerful through human belief and reliance.

Following the footsteps of a rag doll dance, we are entranced...
