Doris Day's new album My Heart is a thrill for millions of Doris Day fans, released worldwide by Sony Music.
My Heart is the first new Doris Day album in years, and the highly anticipated new release was produced by Doris Day's son Terry Melcher before his recent death.
Filled with music for every mood, My Heart is the most emotional album of the singer's career. Doris Day dedicated her comeback album to her late son in his memory.
"These are the tunes that reflect my love of animals, my love for my son. They're the dearest things to my heart," said the Hollywood megastar singer, actress and animal rights activist from Carmel, California.
Doris Day insisted on including "Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries" on the album because it was her son Terry's favorite recording.
The tracks on My Heart include Doris Days' superb versions of classic rock songs by Joe Cocker, The Lovin' Spoonful and The Beach Boys.
Also, "My Buddy", a tearjerker that Doris Day sings to her son, is a priceless moment.
My Heart also includes an intimately spoken intro to the song "Happy Endings", performed by son Terry Melcher, a music industry legend himself.
Doris Day is excited about the release of her new album, saying "I'm so thrilled My Heart is generating a stir! It's a delightful thing to give this to my fans after so many years."
The flawlessly seductive voice is still there, even at age 88, and the singer adapts her voice to hipper song styles with effortless ease. Doris Day remains the consummate professional entertainer.
Today, the legendary California blonde is as phenomenal as ever.
Doris Day's new single, "Heaven Tonight" is a great pop song made for adult contemporary audiences. Below is a fan video of the song made using scenes from a French romantic movie. It will do until Doris releases an official video.
