Kim Kardashian Divorce

Monday, October 31, 2011

Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, after 72 days of marriage, citing 'irreconcilable differences' on the divorce papers.

Kardashian and Humphries married in a highly-publicized 'Fairytale Wedding' in August and later, on television, the newlywed couple renewed their marriage vows on the "Ellen" show.

As Kim Kardashian pursues the role of divorcee for the second time, the sex-tape celebrity and reality TV star says that divorcing her husband of 10 weeks was entirely her decision.

"I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned," Kardashian said from Los Angeles after filing divorce papers.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries had signed a prenuptual agreement before their wedding, so both parties' assets are protected in the dissolution of marriage.

Are Kardashian fans all that shocked that the couple is already into a marital split?  Not really.  Besides, the California divorce rate is 75 percent.

Divorce is an industry, especially in Hollywood, and many divorce lawyers stake their entire careers on California's steady stream of celebrity divorces.

"Til death do us part?"  Like, whatever.  At least Kim Kardashian's marriage lasted longer than her competition on "Dancing With The Stars."
