Geraldo Rivera is launching a talk radio show in Los Angeles with a politically moderate tone on KABC-AM 790 from 10am to Noon weekdays, debuting January 30th.

Geraldo agreed with the Cumulus Media philosophy of a more balanced news perspective than is currently offered on conservative talk radio, so the 68-year-old television news legend signed a radio deal worthy of his award-winning journalism career.

"Talk radio is setting the agenda politically, and that agenda is extremely partisan. It's carving up the country, it has a strong racial undertone, and I don't think that's good for anybody," Rivera declared.  "I think I represent a big swath of the middle."

During his new radio talk show, Geraldo Rivera will interview guests, get into the day's news and take LIVE callers.  The talk radio program will concentrate mainly on Southern California, where the journalist has 25 years of experience as a homeowner and taxpayer.

"There is a sameness to a lot of talk radio," said Geraldo. "I want another voice to be heard.  I think that will be good for a lot of people.  I guarantee you, we're going to stir the pot."

The iconic Geraldo Rivera is famous for a long television career that included "Good Morning America," "20/20," "Dateline," "The Geraldo Rivera Show," "Rivera Live," "Geraldo At Large" and countless TV specials over the last four decades.

He launched his radio career earlier this month with a talkradio show on WABC-AM in New York, which is doing well, so Cumulus Media reached a deal with Geraldo for the L.A. radio market.

The east coast is three hours ahead of the west coast, so the "Geraldo" radio program will be broadcast LIVE in Southern California every weekday after he does his his New York show.  There will be no tape-delay, simulcasting nor syndication involved.

FOX News fans, fear not.  Rivera will continue to host his TV program, "Geraldo at Large," on weekends.
