Whitney Houston Eulogy
Thursday, February 16, 2012
Whitney Elizabeth Houston came into this world on August 9, 1963 in New Jersey. She has just left this world from a luxury suite in Beverly Hills, California.
Somewhere in between, Whitney Houston won nearly 500 awards, trophies and golden statuettes during a legendary career as a singer, songwriter, producer, movie star and model.
Whitney Houston entered the afterlife as the most-awarded woman who ever lived, according to Guinness World Records, and her accomplishments as a recording artist are far too numerous to fully demonstrate here.
During her 48 years on earth, Whitney Houston rose above all women in history to hit the apex, the zenith and the climax of female beauty, ambition, fame and fortune.
Whitney was a cute teenage protégé, a music industry powerhouse, a record-breaking performer, a black heroine, a female role model, an international superstar, a Hollywood sex symbol, a legendary diva, the voice of a generation, the voice of America and the Queen of Pop.
That was the public side of the world's greatest female star. After hitting the top, over and over again, where else was there to go?
Whitney Houston may have escaped into realms familiar to many hopeless people, and she might have stumbled down paths unfamiliar to most of her fellow Christian believers, but --- in the end --- she reconciled with God before going home.
While media outlets anxiously reported any possible evidence of alcohol, drugs or paraphernalia in her proximity, none mentioned the open Holy Bible in her Beverly Hills hotel room.
Whitney Houston's final moments on earth were spent alone with God --- the One she recognized in her youth, the One she rebelled against, and the One she ultimately reunited with on her way to Eternity.
God had never left nor forsaken Whitney Elizabeth Houston no matter how many times His prodigal daughter ran away from Him.
Safe in the arms of the Heavenly Father who gave her the greatest voice of all, Whitney is singing a new song in Heaven, free from all that might limit her utmost expression of purity, perfection and sheer joy.
Those who knew her best were well-acquainted with Whitney's desire to openly express those qualities. May all be filled with happiness knowing that their mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend is now fully expressing her essence in the everlasting sun.
No earthly awards can match the excitement that Whitney is experiencing right now. She is free to simply BE.
The time for eulogy and mourning is coming to a close. It is time to celebrate the graduation of Whitney Houston, a girl who was the sunshine of many a soul.
