The Doors "L.A. Woman" 2012

Mar 19, 2012

A new 2012 video for the song "L.A. Woman" by The Doors commemorates the 1971 L.A. Woman album, the band's final studio album before lead singer Jim Morrison's death.

The new "L.A. Woman" video features pro skateboarding stars Braydon Szafranski, Alex Olson and Kenny Anderson doing their thing on the streets of Venice, Hollywood, Downtown, Wilshire and all around The Doors' hometown of Los Angeles.

The video prominently features the famous Venice mural of a shirtless Jim Morrison by street artist Gronk, plus cameos by drummer John Densmore, guitarist Robby Krieger and also Jac Holzman, who signed the Doors to his Elektra label in the 1960s.

The keyboardist who defined the unique musical sound of The Doors, Ray Manzarek, does not appear in this new Doors video, which is totalling disappointing.

The following music video for one of the biggest songs about California ever recorded uses an edit of "L.A. Woman" that is officially authorized by The Doors.

This song rocks more than ever.

Totally and supremely.
