"On PCH" White Smoke
Sep 15, 2012
"I Feel Right at Home (On PCH)" is a 2012 pop ballad about the Pacific Coast Highway by the synthpop duo White Smoke from Santa Clarita, California.
A single from the album Proper Introductions, "On PCH" is White Smoke's musical trip from the San Fernando Valley to Malibu, where the sun, sand and surf reign over an endless summer.
Produced, mixed and engineered by Bmode of Los Angeles, "I Feel Right at Home (On PCH)" was written by Bmode and BJ Saidi.
"The lyrics just came to me. After all, it was so easy to pick from a multitude of memories driving to the beach," said BJ Saidi. "On a clear day, the coastline view can be breathtaking, and it's always fun to take the long way home via PCH. I always feel a mammalian pull when I'm near the ocean."
White Smoke consists of band mates Venita Louise Saidi and BJ Saidi, both lifelong native Californians who just happen to be happily married to each other.Dutch DJ Paul Stoutenberg plays music from White Smoke's Proper Introductions album on his popular Radio Ridderkerk show "MuziekPlus" in the Netherlands.
The duo was surprised to receive requested airplay on the other side of the world. "You just never know who is going to like you!" BJ Saidi exclaimed.
"I Feel Right at Home (On PCH)" by White Smoke is a homegrown musical tribute to California's famous coastal highway, and one of the most mellowly groovy songs about California ever.
