Voters Want Condi Rice for VP

Jul 18, 2012

Voters want a Californian for vice president --- Condoleezza Rice.  The former secretary of state is the #1 choice as Mitt Romney's running mate among U.S. voters and GOP voters.

Romney-Rice 2012

Condi Rice overwhelmingly won the latest FOX News poll of potential GOP vice presidential candidates, beating her second place competitor by a stunning 11 percentage points.

Here are the FOX News poll numbers on the prospective VP picks:
  • Condi Rice - 30 percent
  • Marco Rubio - 19 percent
  • Chris Christie - 8 percent
  • Paul Ryan - 8 percent
  • Bobby Jindal - 5 percent
  • Rob Portman - 3 percent
  • Bob McDonnell - 3 percent
  • Susana Martinez - 3 percent
  • Tim Pawlenty - 2 percent
In the head-to-head ballot test, 45 percent of voters back Obama and 41 percent Romney, if the election were held today.  However, a Romney-Rice ticket vs. an Obama-Biden ticket gives Mitt Romney his edge.

Romney support among Republican voters jumps from 84 percent to nearly 90 percent with Condoleezza Rice on the GOP ticket.

Condi Rice is a worldwide political rock star.  Mitt Romney is not.  20 years from now, Rice will still have a world full of fans.  Romney will be forgotten.

If Mitt Romney does not select Condoleezza Rice as his vice presidential running mate, it will prove that the Republican Party is forfeiting Election 2012 without having the balls to come out and say it.

But we'll still have Condi, the most respected political figure from California.
