"California Nights" is a 1967 pop song about California by singer-actress Lesley Gore, from the TV show "Batman."

Composed by legendary songwriter Marvin Hamlisch, "California Nights" was an instant hit after being sung by Lesley Gore while portraying Robin's nemesis, Pussycat, who was the sidekick of Catwoman.

In the January 19, 1967 "Batman" episode entitled "That Darn Catwoman," Lesley Gore's character disobeyed Catwoman's order to forget about her dreams of singing and instead concentrate on a life of crime.

Catwoman had found Pussycat at the Milkshake-A-Go-Go on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, according to the musical TV episode.

Once the "Batman" episode was aired on television, "California Nights" was a quick million-seller and certified gold record for the young singing superstar.

One of the most nostalgic California songs today, "California Nights" by Lesley Gore still echoes in Robin's ears after all these years.
