RATM Rages Against Paul Ryan
Aug 18, 2012
Vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is a fan of the Los Angeles band Rage Against The Machine, but the musicians are not giving Paul Ryan any California love.
Rage Against The Machine, a Grammy-winning left-wing heavy metal music group, is not a fan of Republican neocon Paul Ryan.
RATM guitarist Tom Morello has written a scathing editorial on Mitt Romney's presidential running mate for Rolling Stone, which is nothing short of a social indictment.
In the op-ed piece, Morello is amused by Paul Ryan's admiration of Rage Against the Machine because, to him, Ryan embodies the machine that his music has been raging against for 21 years.
"Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn't understand them. Governor Chris Christie loves Bruce Springsteen but doesn't understand him. And Paul Ryan is clueless about hisfavorite band, Rage Against the Machine," Morello declared.
Tom Morello is a liberal California activist who supports the Occupy Wall Street movement and famously protested a Walmart being built in the Chinatown district of Los Angeles.Rep. Paul Ryan has also praised atheist Ayn Rand as a major influence, though Ryan has now thrown the controversial author under the bus to look like a good Catholic boy for maximum votes.
Much to the disappointment of Paul Ryan, Rage Against The Machine will not be performing at the 2012 Republican National Convention.
