"San Francisco" Global Deejays

Sep 9, 2012

"The Sound of San Francisco" is a 2004 electro house dance song by the electronic music artists known as Global Deejays from Austria.

An international hit, "The Sound of San Francisco" features bits of the songs "San Francisco" (Scott McKenzie) and "California Dreamin" (The Mamas & The Papas).

Many club music fans refer to the song as "San Francisco Dreaming."

The music video (below) by Global Deejays shows fake hippies cruising around the city in a school bus, bumping and grinding, while trying their best to "look California."

Regardless, the song is cool to listeners who dig a heavily "sampled" style, though original recordings are not sampled in this song.

Rather, fake versions of California songs are sampled, oddly.

More Eurofornia than California, the video for "The Sound of San Francisco" by Global Deejays goes from suggestive to aggressive to jarring.

Watch only if you're a grown-up, seriously.
