Soma Holiday for California

In the aftermath of the California governor's signature on what some feel are too many laws, many Californians are either disgusted, discouraged, or dizzy from political spin.

With the added thrill of a presidential election featuring candidates and political surrogates who bash California at every turn, some Californios just feel a need to decompress.

To stem the rising tide of weeping and gnashing of teeth in the Golden State, perhaps California should simply do what California does best - a drug-induced escape - with legally-prescribed drugs, of course.

Let's just declare a statewide Soma Holiday in California.

While some in our state are preparing federal lawsuits and assorted other reactionary legal maneuvers, a great number of Californians have expressed boredom, extreme anxiety or oppressive political fatigue.
