Frank Pastore Coma and Death
Nov 24, 2012
KKLA Los Angeles Christian radio personality Frank Pastore is in critical condition in a hospital intensive care unit as his family pleads for prayers from Christians everywhere.
Frank Pastore, 55, the popular radio host of "The Frank Pastore Show," aired nationwide from L.A. Christian megastation KKLA 99.5, was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in Southern California on the 210 Foothill Freeway.
Pastore suffered major head injuries when he was sideswiped by a 56-year-old Glendora woman in a Hyundai Sonata and his motorcycle smashed into the center divider, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The beloved inspirational radio host, father and grandfather slipped into a coma at L.A. County-USC Medical Center where he remains.
Family, friends and radio listeners gathered at the Calvary Chapel of the Chino Valley to hear Pastor David Rosales, who begged the church congregation to join in intercessory prayer for Pastore and his devastated family.
Frank Pastore's wife of 34 years, Gina Pastore, clings to her faith with an outpouring of love and support from her church family during the nightmare emergency.
"We're remaining hopeful for a good outcome. It's such a fresh injury that we're still not sure. It's a roller coaster," said Mrs. Pastore. "He's a man of strong faith. He's prepared to go be with the Lord if that's what God desires."
"My faith is unshaken," Gina Pastore emphasized. "I'm obviously very upset by what's happened to my husband, but my faith is as strong as it ever was."
Frank Pastore has two children, Frank Jr. and Christina, and a little grandchild.
The Pastore Family has attended the Calvary Chapel of the Chino Valley for the last 23 years, according to heartbroken Pastor David Rosales.
"We've seen him as he's grown as a Christian and a communicator, and most recently as a radio commentator and radio host," said Pastor Rosales. "The Lord has been very pleased with what he's done."
"For us, just to see Frank and Gina go through this, has been very difficult," Rosales added. "We as a church family are grieving with them, supportive of them and praying for them."
