on February 20, 2013
The new tallest building in California will also be the tallest skyscraper in the West when the $1 billion highrise is built in downtown Los Angeles by Korean Airlines.

The 21st century Wilshire Grand hotel and office megastructure will be a technological spectacle of glittering glass adorning the L.A. skyline at heights never before experienced.

Here are some of the features of the new Korean highrise in downtown Los Angeles:
  • 3 floors of stores and cafes
  • 30 floors of offices for lease
  • 900 luxury hotel rooms
  • Main lobby on 70th floor
  • Restaurant on 71st floor
  • Infinity pool on 73rd floor
Designed by L.A. architects from AC Martin Partners, the new Los Angeles skyscraper at Wilshire Boulevard and Figueroa Street is set for completion in 2017.

"The new Wilshire Grand is an investment that makes sense," declared Korean Air Chairman Y. H. Cho from Los Angeles. "We are excited to continue our relationship with this great city."

California's New Tallest Building The new Wilshire Grand highrise will also serve as a gleaming icon of unity between the California Republic and the Republic of Korea.

Los Angeles, home to Koreatown, is the Korean capital of the western hemisphere and relations remain very strong between Seoul and Los Angeles.

"These are exciting times for South Korea and California," proclaimed South Korean President-elect Park Geun-Hye. "May this be a beautiful symbol of the peaceful and prosperous bond of sisterhood between our two societies."

Korean Airlines' new L.A. skyscraper will be the tallest building in California, but the architectural marvel will intangibly represent far more than business or altitude.
